In a small village in Palamur district, where traditional agriculture and animal husbandry are the primary sources of livelihood, a social enterprise named V6 Teenmar has launched a unique initiative. The project, titled “Atukula Bathukamma,” aims to promote milk production in rural communities and open new avenues for economic self-reliance.
Under this initiative, V6 Teenmar has established the “Palamuru Mini Tank Bund,” a small but highly modern tank that received a grant of 7.5 lakh rupees. This grant was utilized to arrange the equipment, raw materials, and distribution network necessary for milk production.
Most notably, as part of this project, V6 Teenmar has also installed a “Milk ATM.” This ATM serves as a cutting-edge technological solution for buying and selling milk, ensuring convenient and transparent transactions for both farmers and consumers. Farmers can deposit their milk directly into the ATM and immediately receive cash or digital payment.
According to local residents, the “Milk ATM” has also improved the quality and pricing of milk. It has brought stability to milk production, ensuring that farmers receive fair prices for their produce. Additionally, the ATM reduces the time required for milk collection and distribution, keeping the milk fresh and of high quality.
Mr. Ramakrishna, the head of V6 Teenmar, stated, “Our goal is to economically empower rural communities and connect them with modern technology. Through ‘Atukula Bathukamma’ and the ‘Palamuru Mini Tank Bund,’ we are ensuring that milk producers can sell their produce at better prices while consumers also benefit from fresh milk.”
The impact of this project extends beyond milk production. It has provided new employment opportunities for rural youth, as technical staff are required for the operation and maintenance of the “Milk ATM.” Furthermore, the distribution of milk in local markets has resulted in savings in both traffic and time.
Dr. Suman, the agricultural officer of Palamur district, also praised the initiative, stating, “This initiative by V6 Teenmar presents a new model for rural development. Through the 7.5 lakh rupee grant and the ‘Milk ATM,’ we can make milk production and trade more transparent and profitable.”
Thus, “Atukula Bathukamma,” the “Palamuru Mini Tank Bund,” and the “Milk ATM” have collectively generated new energy and potential in the field of milk production and trade in Palamur’s rural society. This project demonstrates how the combination of technological innovation and financial assistance can empower rural communities within traditional industries.
