The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs celebrated the 11th Ayurveda Day nationwide today with great enthusiasm. This year's main theme was “Ayurveda for a Healthy Tomorrow,” presenting Ayurveda not only as a means of disease treatment but also as the foundation for future health security. The event was attended by senior ministry officials, Ayurveda experts, representatives of research institutions, and delegates from the health departments of various state governments. They highlighted the scientific basis of Ayurveda, its integration with modern medicine, and the need to promote its practice in both rural and urban areas.

To increase awareness of Ayurveda, the ministry outlined several new policies. These include expanding the network of Ayurvedic treatment centers, incorporating Ayurvedic protocols into urban health schemes, and adding alternative health sciences to school curricula to encourage Ayurvedic education among the younger generation. Additionally, a plan was announced to establish a national-level certification system for the standardization and quality control of Ayurvedic products. Experts said that these initiatives will enhance the credibility of Ayurvedic treatments and enable long‑term improvements in public health.

The ministry also indicated that in the coming years Ayurveda will be integrated with digital health platforms and incorporated into telemedicine services, allowing people in remote areas to access certified Ayurvedic consultations and treatments. Through this comprehensive approach, the government aims not only to address current health challenges but also to establish, in the future, a sustainable, natural and scientifically based health system.
