NCISM Chairman Launches CCRAS Spark 5.0 and CCRAS Ayurshodh 2026 to Strengthen Ayurveda Research and Innovation

October 15, 2026 marked a pivotal moment in the world of Ayurvedic science when the President of the National Institute of Clinical Sciences and Medicine (NCISM) inaugurated two infrastructure projects at the country’s premier Ayurvedic research centre, CCRAS (Council of Clinical Research in Ayurveda). These projects, named CCRAS SPARK 5.0 and CCRAS Ayurshodh 2026, were launched specifically to strengthen research and innovation in Ayurveda. Guests at the event welcomed the initiative, viewing it as a major step toward enhancing the scientific credibility and practical utility of Ayurveda.

The focus of the NCISM President’s opening remarks was on how traditional knowledge can be integrated with modern scientific protocols. The CCRAS SPARK 5.0 programme aims to bring together researchers, students, and industry experts to work on new drugs, medical devices, and dissemination technologies. This fifth edition places special emphasis on ensuring that research outcomes do not remain confined to papers but are transformed into tangible products or services that improve public health.

Simultaneously, CCRAS Ayurshodh 2026 is a comprehensive research initiative aimed at increasing both the quality and quantity of Ayurvedic clinical studies for the coming years. Under this programme, selected clinics and laboratories across the country will collaborate to consolidate coordinated data, thereby validating the efficacy of Ayurvedic treatments against global standards. Experts believe that these two initiatives together will help transform Ayurveda from merely a traditional medical system into a dynamic, research‑based scientific platform.

During the ceremony it was also noted that the government and relevant departments are increasing investment and policy support in the field, enabling rapid implementation of these innovation efforts. Leaders of Ayurvedic research institutions pledged to use these new platforms to produce results that are internationally acceptable. Finally, the NCISM President inspired all researchers by stating that the future model of healthcare will be determined by the convergence of modern technology and ancient knowledge, and that CCRAS’s new efforts lay a solid foundation in this direction.
