The Uttarakhand delegation met West Bengal Governor Mr. R. N. Ravi during the Youth Confluence Phase VII tour.

Under the Golden Vision initiative, the Uttarakhand delegation arrived in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, during the seventh phase (Phase VII) of its “Yuva Sangam” (Youth Confluence) journey. A key objective of this historic journey was to hold a formal meeting with the Governor of West Bengal, Shri R. N. Ravi. This meeting is regarded as a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations between the two states.

At the outset of the meeting, the Uttarakhand delegation presented a detailed overview of the “Yuva Sangam” project to Governor Shri R. N. Ravi. The primary aim of the project is to connect the youth of Uttarakhand with other parts of the country, expand their social horizons, and promote interdisciplinary engagement. The delegation explained that the decision to specifically include West Bengal in Phase VII was made because, despite their distinct cultures, languages, and lifestyles, both states share a common social sensitivity and a commitment to promoting national unity.

Governor Shri R. N. Ravi welcomed the delegation and commended the initiative. He stated that such cultural and social journeys between Uttarakhand and West Bengal serve as bridges of trust among people. He also thanked Uttarakhand for its efforts in inspiring the youth of his state. During the meeting, both sides engaged in an in-depth discussion on potential avenues for cooperation in various sectors, with particular emphasis on education, arts, culture, and tourism.

The delegation noted that the youth of West Bengal have warmly embraced their team. Ongoing dialogues with local institutions and youth organizations have further enriched the journey. During this trip, the youth of Uttarakhand experienced the rich cultural heritage of West Bengal, while sharing insights into the hill culture of their state. This exchange proved instrumental in fostering social harmony between the two states.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue such efforts in the future to ensure that the younger generation is made aware of the importance of national integration. The Uttarakhand delegation expressed its gratitude to Governor R. N. Ravi for his invaluable advice and guidance. This meeting has established “Yuva Sangam Phase VII” not merely as a journey, but as the beginning of social transformation. This event will be remembered as a successful model of Uttarakhand’s foreign policy and social diplomacy.
