New Delhi: The key meeting of the Hindi Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj was held with Professor S.P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, presiding over the session. The primary objective of the meeting was to ensure standards for all government notifications, orders, and technical documents to be issued regarding the use, promotion, and dissemination of the Hindi language in the Panchayati Raj sector. At the outset of the meeting, the Minister reiterated the Ministry's commitment to popularizing Hindi as the country's official language at the grassroots level.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, experts from the Language Department, and other committee members engaged in detailed deliberations during the meeting. Professor S.P. Singh Baghel emphasized that Panchayati Raj institutions, including District Panchayats, Block Panchayats, and Gram Panchayats, are directly connected to the general public; therefore, it is essential that all information issued by them be in simple, clear, and correct Hindi. He directed that when translating any technical terms, their exact meaning in common language must be ensured so that rural people do not face any difficulty in understanding them.
The committee also agreed that the linguistic accuracy of new schemes, plans, and guidelines in the Panchayati Raj sector should be checked as a mandatory process before their publication. It was also decided that the responsibility of regularly updating the Hindi translation of all content available on the Ministry's website and digital platforms would be fulfilled. Additionally, training programs aimed at improving the usage of the Hindi language and writing skills of Panchayati Raj officers and staff will be made more effective.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor S.P. Singh Baghel thanked all members for their cooperation and stated that the high-level use of the Hindi language not only keeps government processes smooth but also strengthens national linguistic unity. He directed that the suggestions provided by the committee be immediately incorporated into the Ministry's action plan and that the relevant guidelines be timely communicated to all top-tier Panchayats. This meeting has sent a clear signal that the Central Government is serious about enforcing linguistic standards in the Panchayati Raj sector and the promotion of Hindi.
