Central Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan's initiative brings the first National Super Fair outside Delhi-NCR to Vijayawada: President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu will inaugurate it on 15 October.

In a new chapter in the history of Indian agriculture and rural development, the country's premier agricultural fair, the National Sarson Mela, is being hosted outside the Delhi-NCR region for the first time, a result of the sustained and firm initiative by Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. This is a historic decision, as the fair has previously been held almost exclusively in the capital region, but this time its venue has been fixed at Vijayawada in Maharashtra. This change not only sends a message of promoting regional prosperity but is also a step towards encompassing the diversity of agricultural production at the national level.

The inauguration of this significant event will be performed by President Smt. Droupadi Murmu on October 15, which lends national importance to the fair. Smt. Murmu's presence on this occasion makes it clear how much priority the government is giving to the agricultural sector. The organization of the fair in Vijayawada is highly relevant because the region is known for its agricultural production, particularly the cultivation of mustard and other edible oilseeds. The fair will provide a broad commercial platform for the hard work of the local farmers.

Expressing satisfaction over this initiative, Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that organizing the fair outside Delhi-NCR is a major achievement. He explained that this will directly benefit the farmers of Vijayawada and facilitate the reach of their produce to broader markets. The fair is not merely a display of commercial practices, but also a common platform for farmers, industrialists, scientists, and technical experts where the latest agricultural technologies and seed quality will be discussed.

Preparations for the fair to be held in Vijayawada have been fully completed. The local administration and central ministries have jointly provided the necessary infrastructure and logistical support for the successful organization of the fair. The estate will include pavilions from various states, exhibitions of new seed varieties, demonstrations of agricultural equipment, and special sessions for farmers. It is expected that trade of millions of tons of mustard and other crop seeds will take place during the fair, leading to a significant increase in farmers' income.

The address by President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will inspire farmers and send a clear message that the government is committed to the upliftment of farmers. The decision to organize the fair outside Delhi-NCR is a significant step towards eliminating regional disparities and giving recognition to local farmers at the national level. During the inauguration ceremony on October 15, various cultural programs and exhibitions will also be organized, making the atmosphere of the fair even more attractive. The fair is expected to prove to be a major success for farmers in the upcoming harvest season.
