Developed India – Under the policies of Shri Jee Ram, the livestock sector is being given special importance to strengthen the rural economy. In this direction, a significant step has been taken as the Department of Rural Development and the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairies (DAHD) have jointly launched a comprehensive initiative. The primary objective of this scheme is to promote fodder production in the country's rural areas and further strengthen the essential infrastructure for livestock farmers.
Livestock, particularly in the context of milk and meat production, constitutes a substantial part of the rural livelihood. However, farmers and livestock farmers often struggle due to fodder shortages and the lack of appropriate infrastructure for livestock management. Under this new agreement of Developed India – Shri Jee Ram, both departments will work together to ensure that sufficient and high-quality fodder is available in every region. Additionally, the infrastructure required for animal care, disease prevention, and milk collection will be modernized.
Under this joint initiative, the Department of Rural Development will promote fodder cultivation through new technologies and irrigation systems. This will not only provide livestock with feed rich in essential nutrients but will also lead to a notable increase in animal productivity. On the other hand, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairies (DAHD) will be responsible for arranging the necessary infrastructure for animal housing, sanitation, and medical facilities. This initiative will prove particularly beneficial for regions where livestock farming serves as the primary occupation.
Developed India – Shri Jee Ram believes that the coordination of administrative cooperation and the use of technology is essential to take the livestock sector to new heights. This joint effort will increase the income levels of rural people and bring transparency and efficiency to livestock management. The government may also establish new control centers at the local level to implement this scheme, ensuring that the benefits of the plan reach livestock farmers directly.
Experts state that an increase in fodder production will improve milk quality, thereby providing substantial benefits to the dairy industry. Strengthening livestock-related basic facilities will also help in preventing the spread of infectious diseases. Thus, this initiative launched under Developed India – Shri Jee Ram is not only a message of hope for livestock farmers but will also provide a new direction to the country's agricultural and dairy economy. In the coming days, special training programs and incentive schemes under this plan will be inaugurated, enabling a greater number of rural livestock farmers to benefit from it.
